Blennerhasset & Baggrow Village Hall was built in the late 1940’s by the unemployed men of the two villages on land given by the Lawson Estate.
The hall is held on behalf of the villages by the trustees, Blennerhasset & Torpenhow Parish Council. Its objectives are reflected in the hall’s official name Blennerhasset & Baggrow Social & Educational Centre and are continued to this day.
It is a centre for a number of different activities in the village and is used by a range of groups from the village school to FitSteps and yoga; and on Election Days does duty as the local Polling Station.
Each week events include:
Monday – 6.30pm Dance Fitness
Tuesday – 7.30pm Bingo
Wednesday – 10am Gentle exercise session – 7pm Yoga
Also, on the first Wednesday of each month there is a coffee morning, from 10.30am to noon. A chance for the village to get together for a chat over a cup of coffee and a piece of cake!
The paperback library is also open for people to change their books.
The Village Hall is available for hire for just £8 per hour. For further information please contact Caroline Turner on 016973 21944.
